Dr. Firdevs Burcak completed her doctoral studies in the Early Childhood Education program at Hacettepe University. Her doctoral dissertation was awarded the 2019 Nafi Atuf Kansu Pedagogical Doctoral Research Award. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Burcak received support from TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and participated in research projects at the Center for Environmental Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Her work focused on exploring the impact of nature-based learning on children’s developmental skills. Dr. Burcak is the author of the book “Design and Effective Use of Outdoor Learning Environments in Preschool Education”. In addition to her scientific research on the concept of resilience, Dr. Burcak has also completed the Compassion-Based Resilience Teacher Training led by Dr. Joe Loizzo at the Nalanda Institute in New York and the Resilience Expert Training led by Dr. Michael Ungar at the Resilience Research Center in Canada.
